Finally, a use for that peg leg

    First day of new job.

“You met everyone?” the new boss asks.  “Did you meet Scallywag?”  He gestures to a Hallowe’en skeleton, who is actually decorated for Easter.

“Um? We weren’t actually introduced, no.”

“He’s our mascot.  Every year we celebrate International Talk Like a Pirate Day.  The best costume wins a trophy.”

…I think it’s safe to say I’ve found my tribe.

Yar matey! In one of my previous jobs, the mascot was Fred Flinstone- he was carefully painted chainsaw art- that rough-cut log stuff. He'd get dressed up for every holiday. I miss Fred.

I'm totally bringing 'Talk like a pirate day' to the Dementia unit I work on.

fuck. we could do it every day.

That sounds like the perfect job! Our office is a little similar, but a little bit more rambunctious considering the field of work. Let's just hope it's not a Honeymoon phase!
