I asked someone what to write about. She said “a song that evokes a memory”. This probably isn’t exactly what she meant.
Sunday, January 9, 2011 at 10:32PM In high school, the dude that I had the most massive crush on (and briefly dated made out with, at least until he went back to his girlfriend, who put out) drove a 1980 Monte Carlo and listened to music from the 70s.
A bit anachronistic, considering it was 1990.
He had a mix tape in his car of what he deemed “the saddest songs ever”, for some reason. I suppose he was even angstier than me. In the mix tape of “saddest songs ever”, the one song that got the crown for “saddest song EVVVAAAHHH”, was Bonnie Tylers Total Eclipse of the Heart.
And so, long after getting over my crush, and probably after hearing plenty of other songs that were, in fact, actually SAD, I still continued to think of Total Eclipse of the Heart as “like, the saddest song EVER”.
At least, until I saw this:
Now it’s the most friggin’ hilarious song ever. Thanks for fucking with my memories, YouTube.

Hello-ha! I'm new to this crazy blog and I like it! I adopted your Random Tuesday badge and will post it tonight along with my random thought! Or thoughts - I'm not done yet. If you want to take a look - worsinsync.blogspot.com is the place, shah is the name. Do you do the link up thing below it tomorrow? You know like a blog hop? Let me know or I'll feel pretty stupid doing half of the required elements!
Shah .X
Oh and I'm following you too! ;) Shah. X
That video's like chili cheese burritos...don't make it the last thing you 'eat' before going to bed. Literal Total Eclipse of the Heart has been my soundtrack since and those creepy glow-eyed choir boys chased me through my nightmares. Pretty sure I saw one driving an Escalade next to me on the way to work this morning, too.
Holy crap! That was hilarious. Laughed until I cried and snort green tea.
I'm now going to have those image and that stupid song rattling in my head all damn day. I'm not thanking you for it.
I think I need a mop now too! That was awesome!
I couldn't watch it. Nothing can ruin Bonnie Tylers Total Eclipse of the Heart. Nothing. It's perfection!
Frogmama has issues. I laughed my backside numb (of course, that might be the mis-adjusted office chair, but I'm giving you credit).
OMG!!! This is too funny!!!!
Holy freakin' crap! That was funny! I'm still laughing & the new girl here at work is looking like me like I'm crazy.
Hilarious. But wow. Now it all finally makes sense. ;)
Oh. My. Funny. I so needed this today. Rock on, my friend.
OMG! That. Was. HYSTERICAL!
I'm still laughing...
:)
I didn't watch the video. Because I'm tired. But I had to write that I had a 1979 Monte Carlo and I still think of it as the best car ever. It sits rusting out in my FIL's back yard because none of us have the hear to get rid of it. And yes, I do get how trashy that sounds.
OMG, I nearly wet my pants! DH and I were laughing so hard we couldn't hear the music...
You. You complete me.
I needed a laugh...thanks for sharing!
I've seen that video DOZENS of times, even posted it on my blog a while ago... and it NEVER fails to make me piss my pants laughing.
When did you move? It says I can't watch it in my country. Who seperated from the country, Ontario or Saskatchewan and how the heck did I miss that?
