One of these things is not like the other (in our favorite sushi restaurant)

(Why does everyone always pick on the French?)

I cannot believe you ordered fries in a sushi restaurant. Shame on you.

Could you send me an order of Agedashi Tofu? Thanks.

I love how they just slid it in there in the middle.

My favorite sushi restaurant here has a bucket of tots as an appetizer option. You bet you a$$ we order those every time we go.

Uhm, because fries are just like potato tempura? Right? Do they even have potatoes in Japan?

This is like when the Chinese restaurant has chicken wings on the menu.

    March 10, 2010 | Unregistered CommenterMama Badger

I guess there is just no Japanese translation for fried potatoes.

Since I don't eat sushi, fries would have been my first choice. Wait, they would have been even IF I ate sushi. Yum, fries. My ass loves them.

What else would the Japanese call them? Freedom fries? Papas fritas?

    March 10, 2010 | Unregistered CommenterSprite's Keeper

I agree with Casey. I don't like sushi either. Have a wonderful Wednesday!

Mmmm I fucking love sushi. I always assume that fries on a menu are for the kiddies.

    How funny!

haha! You know a lot of Japanese/Chinese restaurants offer "American" food though. My fav buffet even had chicken nuggets on it :)

Thank goodness they have fries, If Hubby ever dragged me to a Sushi restaurant, that would be the only thing getting into this mouth.

It's so weird--I've been tooling around people's blogs and two things are coming up tonight: sushi and mud.

I'm sure that's the best comment you've ever gotten. Sorry.

That's exactly the kind of thing my husband and kids look for on the menu at ANY restaurant. Heaven forbid they eat the food that matches the culture of the place.

    March 10, 2010 | Unregistered CommenterMad Woman

Ok, but did you order them? They might have been the best fries ever.

    March 11, 2010 | Unregistered CommenterCaptain Dumbass

They've also got Fried Chicken on there, but I guess it's not the Colonels blend of spices. No mash and gravy?

    March 11, 2010 | Unregistered CommenterMrsbear

I'm also not a sushi eater. Fries for me please!

PS... your listing is up at mah shop!

    March 11, 2010 | Unregistered CommenterLisaUnfiltered

    LOL, weird!

    March 11, 2010 | Unregistered CommenterMiss Angie

The fries were probably made with fish.

    March 11, 2010 | Unregistered CommenterMary@Holy Mackerel

i thought for a minute the arrow pointed to japchae. and i was confused.

My favorite Mexican restaurant has chicken fingers and grilled cheese on the menu squeezed right between Enchiladas Suiza and Chile Rellenos. Gotta love America.

I'm not a big sushi eater but I wouldn't expect to see FF on the menu. I do remember, however, as a child that there were ALWAYS FF on a Chinese menu. Guess we Americans can't live without our French Fries.
