4 pictures that pretty much sum up my New Years Eve
Monday, January 5, 2009 at 8:32AM So after whining so much about going off to hubby's hometown for New Years, you didn't think I'd skip blogging about it, did you? Well actually the trip turned out to be rather pleasant. And we did go out with his sister & BIL for a New Years Eve dinner which, while providing a great steak and some great conversation, had a distinctly small-town flair to it. Here's four pictures that sum up how:
1. If "Leesa" is indeed her real name.

2. As this was explained to me: They open a bag of Doritos. Throw in some ground beef, salsa & sour cream and shake it up. Then they hand it to you, breaking all kinds of health regulations in the process, I'm sure. Nom nom nom *gag*

3. Um, yeah.

4. Note to Self, if Self ever gets the bright idea to open a bar in a small town: If your patrons feel they have a personal relationship with their Video Lottery Terminals, they may be inclined to gamble more. You know, to show their new friends "a good time". Use handmade signs for that personal touch.

...that was all. We were home by 8:30. But it WAS good steak.

You know, when we were laughing over the sandwich ad, I never noticed that they actually pointed out that if you buy a sandwich on the same day it is made, it is fresh. Kind of a nice feature in the food you buy...
Leesa knows her marketing. Getting to know the lotto games is a nice touch. The taco in a bag doesn't sound all that bad, c'mon! Glad you had a fun night out.
The pictures were a great idea for a list! But I'm never drinking egg nog again.
I feel ya--I get stuck w/whipping cream for my coffee at the in-laws house too! What is it w/old folks drinking black coffee?? I have to confess...I might like that taco in a bag. :)
Oh gawd, that eggnog pic is HILARIOUS. Maybe the fresh pricing pyramid should apply to that as well? Nom, nom, nom, baaaaarf!
(Love that, btw!)
"Leesa" sounds like an in interesting person... Did you try the tacos in a bag? I'm curious now...
Small towns would be much more fun to visit if they were like the ones on TV. I'd enjoy visiting my mom a lot more if she lived in Sicily, Alaska.
The eggnog sign is hilarious. The taco in a bag? I don't want it to sound good but it kind of does. Didja try it? Tell the truth!
I totally want to eat at this restaurant now. Or at least get drunk at the legion one night - I'm coming with you next time you go there now.
the history of eggnog pic is hilarious :)
I'm joining the random fun. I know this isn't the right post to link it on but I'm not sure when the kids will leave me alone long enough to come back and link it up later. :)

those photos are a riot. I am thinking the bolly machine really disturbs me....
