I'd write something here about the Star Wars Christmas Special, but I can't relive that pain: Random Tuesday Thoughts

randomtuesday

Whee! It's the last Tuesday before Christmas!

You know what that means? Only two more days before people stop asking me, "Are you ready for Christmas? Are you ready for Christmas? Are you ready for Christmas? Do you have your Christmas shopping done? Are you ready for Christmas?"!

And only two more days before I can stop replying, "Fuck off! Do you even KNOW me? Of course I'm not ready for Christmas!"

Also, it means it's Random Tuesday Thoughts round this here joint. I KNOW your brain is scattered around this time of year, so here's where it pays off. Babble a bit, maybe rant about the inlaws, and tie it together with a fugly purple wrapper (that would be the button). And then link up! One more thing off your holiday to-do list.

Shall we begin?

So, are you guys ready for Christmas?

For reasons I may or may not divulge later, hubby and I went on a little day trip to a neighbouring city today. It's about a 2-1/2 hour drive. Because regular radio sucks and neither of us had the forethought to bring anything other than the same 5 cds that have been in our car for over a year, we listened to news talk radio the whole way.

Why didn't anybody TELL me that the world is going to hell in a handbasket? I'm kind of depressed now.

The kidlet stayed at Grandma & Grandpa's place while we were gone. He decided that while sleeping in Mom & Dad's bed is cool for naptime, sleeping in Grandma & Grandpa's doesn't hold the same appeal. So he wanted to sleep on the dog's bed.

Whatever. He napped, that's the important part.

I may have mentioned that I do the bulk of my Christmas shopping online, in October and November. Sometimes I forget I've bought something for someone already. Okay, quite a few times. Some people are just easier to buy for, ok?

Anyway. I finally opened all the packages today. Apparently I saw fit to order THREE extra gifts for my niece. I would say I'm covered for a birthday or two, but what are the chances I'll remember where I put the additional presents?

Ever felt like your current weather is so weird you're on another planet? Like, say, one in the Star Wars galaxy? Wonder no more.

Why is it totally legit to eat 5 lbs of Skittles on road trips? Or did I just make that rule up in my head? I feel bloated.

Best coffee shop EVER.

Today hubby said, "Last year it was so easy to shop for you for Christmas - you posted everything on your blog!". Bah. He must have missed the post this year. No light saber chopsticks for me, I guess.

I'm sure I'll get something good anyway. Ahem.

Like lots of great RTT posts! Ooooh, sorry, lame segue. Blame the nog. Then link up!

I'm definitely not ready for Christmas. Far from it. If only there were a pause button...

Intrigued by your day trip...though not so intrigued by the talk radio. ;)

Oh good - I'm not the only one that orders extras because I forgot I ordered before (and you're right, some people are really easy to buy for) then forget where I stash the overage later. :)

Happy RTT!

Happy RTT. Sorry to hear about the chopsticks :(

I feel like Spongebob, "I'm ready, IIIIII'm ready!"

But that could have something to do with the fact that I didn't buy much at all due to being unemployed and broke, lol. But I did make tons of ornaments and crap and bake cookies for the family, but then again, I was UNEMPLOYED so had lots of time on my hands.

Wait, what was the question again?

Merry Christmas!

I've got a baggie of Skittles in my mini-van...Are you saying there's something wrong with that?

Don't get me started on the weather. We had the 100 year record setting snowfall for December this past weekend. Pfftt. 15.5 inches. Can someone beam me somewhere warm, please?

Happy RTT!

I would absolutely let my nephew nap in the dog bed, if that's what he wanted.

Of course, I'd have to get a dog bed, but still...

I would totally eat that much Skittles too, LOL. You're hilarious! And my husband never reads my blog but he always manages to get something nice : )

You know, I didn't really want anything until you mentioned Light Saber Chopsticks. Now, I must have them!!

Light saber chopsticks rawk! And now I am putting them on my Santa list. The fat man can pull it off, right?

Mama Badger said...

No chop sticks? Lame. Maybe he was just throwing you off the path.

I'd be done, except people keep adding stuff to do to my list (off of theirs, I'm pretty sure).

Good luck and Merry Christmas.

I just posted about how I love the radio for road trips. Sometimes it lets you down though and I can't stand news radio. I don't like people telling me how to feel. If I am on a long road trip I usually am already angry. Happy RTT and Merry Christmas!

With husbands, it's a good idea to put your Christmas list where you know they will see it. Which means in the "reading room" aka bathroom, or on the fridge, or better yet, wrapped around a beer bottle in the fridge.

I'd buy those light saber chopsticks!

Ready for Christmas-oh no! Want to be ready for Christmas? Yes, but failing miserably. Will Christmas come ready or not? I think so. Happy to have the questions change to Do you have a New Years resolution? Not sure.
Happy Holidays anyway!

Oh my gosh, Queen RTT I am not worthy!!

Your right, no one has anything better to say than "are you ready" or "are you done"... Next time they ask, I'll just direct them here, heh.

OOOoooo..I can't wait to hear what you may or may not have purchased in the neighboring town!

And good luck to hubby on purchasing the perfect Christmas present(S) for you!

Did the baby REALLY sleep on the dog bed? If so, I hope Gma and Gpa got pictures! That's freakin' hilarious! I hope you get your shit together in the next few days so you can actually enjoy your Christmas. I'm still running around like a crazy person, too.

Letting the kid nap in the dog bed? I'm guilty!

HAHA

My memory is about as long as my middle finger... heh... so I keep a spreadsheet of all gifts... since it is on my computer and I buy so much online, I just type it into my spreadsheet right then... and if I have an idea for something I stick it in there too. Then a seperate column is for "Purchased" or not. This is also a good way for me to keep a list of everyone's birthdays and when I have crap coming up. Another cool trick is that I can steal a gift from one person if their birthday is 6 months later and I need a quick gift for someone now. This works out well especially if the gift is Beach Barbie for a 5 year olds birthday in June when I have just been invited to a house warming in February and feel the need to bring a gift :)

I was SO convinced that today was the 23rd and tomorrow was Christmas Eve. Now I feel like I have been granted another 24 hours to get my caca together. Now I don't feel nearly as stressed or like a total loser! Hang in there and May the Light Saber Chopsticks be with you (or at the very least in your stocking!)

Still loving the Star Wars weather! If you get a chance, roll over to my giveaway. I'm sharing some of the springerle cookies I made, which have been my life over the last month. Made three batches, which came to about 24 dozen all told. That was a lot of cookies.
